Elections are being held for Faculty and professional librarian representatives on the Okanagan and Vancouver Senates of The University of British Columbia for the 2026-2029 triennium. For more information about the Senates, please click here.
Faculty Representatives
Positions for eligible faculty members to serve on the Senates are as follows:
- Two (2) people representing each of the Faculties on the Okanagan campus on the Okanagan Senate, elected by and from members of the applicable faculty
- Two (2) people representing each of the Faculties on the Vancouver campus on the Vancouver Senate, elected by and from members of the applicable faculty
Eligibility
Eligible faculty members are all persons with primary appointments to either UBC Okanagan or UBC Vancouver, as applicable, with the rank of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Professor of Teaching, Associate Professor of Teaching, Assistant Professor of Teaching, or Lecturer. Clinical, adjunct, emeritus, sessional, partner, and honorary faculty are not eligible. Faculty representatives can be elected from only the Faculty (or, in the case of joint appointments, Faculties) to which they are appointed.
Note: There are special membership criteria for the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies if standing for the positions in the Faculty.

- One (1) person representing librarians on the Okanagan campus on the Okanagan Senate, elected by and from members of UBC Okanagan's professional librarian staff
- One (1) person representing librarians on the Vancouver campus on the Vancouver Senate, elected by and from members of UBC Vancouver's professional librarian staff
Eligibility
Eligible librarians are all persons appointed as a Librarian or an Archivist to libraries at either UBC Okanagan or UBC Vancouver.

Nominations (third call for Faculty representatives) closed at 4 pm on Wednesday 15 April 2026.
